Frequently Asked Questions
How long do the shampoo bars and conditioner bars last?
The longevity of our bars greatly is depends on how often used. Our full size shampoo bar should last about 60 washes (anywhere from 4-6wks of use). The conditioner bars tend to last a bit longer 80-90 washes (from 6-8wks of use).
i’ve never used shampoo or condioner bars, how do they work?
The shampoo bars are very simple, either work up a lather and put onto hair or rub the bar directly onto your hair to desired coverage. As for the conditioner bars, it may take a few washes to learn how much to use in your hair. Rub the conditioner bar directly onto the areas you wish to condition, it may not feel like anything is being applied but during rinsing you’ll be able to feel the conditioner. We recommend brushing your the conditioner into your hair for a more even coverage. The conditioner bar may also be used as a leave in conditioner.
the shampoo bar says shampoo, how will i tell them (shampoo bar and conditioner bar) apart after it washes off?
yes our shampoo bars say shampoo on them and will eventually wear off with use. By that time, you should be able to feel the difference between the bars, conditioner bars are much smoother feeling than our shampoo bars.
where do you get your tallow from?
We actually render the fat down in house.

how do the lotion bars work?
Our lotion bars work very similarly to liquid lotion bars. For best results use directly after a hot shower, this will allow the beeswax to melt just enough to apply to the skin. These lotion bars feel thicker but not oily on the skin.
What is sodium hydroxide, is it bad?
Sodium hydroxide is the proper name for lye. Lye on its own is harmful, but is needed to make true soap (soap made lye free is classified as a detergent). When making true soap the oils react with the lye to change its composition, with proper cure time the lye is no longer harmful. All our soaps cure for 6wks to ensure they are safe for use.
